Christian Service Brigade (CSB) - Battalion

CSB Battalion
Meetings are Tuesdays During the School Year, 6:45-9 pm (for Young Men Grades 7-12)
Battalion is a discipleship-centered program where Christian men build personal relationships with teen guys & mentor them to be effective Christian leaders. These 12-18 year-old young men share experiences in peer group leadership thru weekly meetings, the achievement program, and service projects and outings - helping them to become leaders by leading. Throughout the year, the young men will be able to participate in monthly activities such as: camping, hiking, biking, and service projects.
The Goal of Battalion Leaders is to:
The weekly meeting is a time of activities, games, stories and small group study. Leaders regularly challenge the young men from the Word of God. The typical Battalion weekly meeting contains elements that appeal to a variety of young men. The ultimate goal in Battalion is to build relationships with the young men so the adult leaders can introduce them to Jesus Christ, disciple them to become men of God, and train them to be leaders.
A Typical Meeting Consists of:
Pre-meeting Activities (in the gym)
This is a great way to channel boys’ energy when they first arrive for the meeting and to build friendships with them in an informal setting. Generally, the young men play games or other activities.
Battalion Formation
This is an opening formation for announcements, prayer, and information related to the night’s meeting.
Squad Meetings
This is small group time for the young men. Teen leaders lead the small groups with devotionals or special discussions
Battalion Action
The entire group does an activity or works through a project together. This time exposes young men to interest areas they may have never have experienced before.
Games
For the young men, this is the fun part of the evening. The game time builds relationships between the adult leaders and young men as they compete together.
Council Ring
This is a time for stories, devotionals, Bible studies, and personal testimonies to present the Gospel to the boys and encourage them to grow in Christ.
Leaders’ Huddle
Finally, the leaders gather for a brief time to talk and pray about the meeting.
