Equipping Ministry (Education)
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.“ - 2 Timothy 3:16-17
The purpose of Chapelgate’s education ministry is to teach the whole counsel of God in a caring context in order to equip Christians of all ages to make an impact for Jesus Christ in the home, church, and world. The Great Commission mandates teaching everything Christ has commanded; therefore, the teaching of Scripture is the primary focus of the education ministry.
To equip people of all ages, we must also help members grow in the exercise of Christian living and in developing their spiritual gifts. Since we are commanded to love one another and bear one another’s burdens, we seek to foster the reciprocal ministry believers are to have in the lives of other believers. All of this can best be accomplished in a caring environment that is characteristic of biblical fellowship.
ADULT EDUCATION
Chapelgate Adult Education is an intergenerational, Bible-based format. Its primary purpose is to “grow” God’s people in Christ and to instill in them a biblical world and life view. This will prepare them to confront secular thinking, to challenge ungodly living and activity, and to love well, all with an eye to bring people to the cross of Christ and the gospel’s light and life.
Classes include teaching of Scripture or teaching based on Scripture as well as training with occasional role-play and workshops in some classes. Strong content as well as interactive and compelling presentation is our goal. We offer opportunity for fellowship and intercessory prayer and pertinent announcements prior to the teaching time in each class. For more information, contact the church office at (410) 442-7677 ext. 110 or jsafriet@chapelgate.org

TRAINING
The Church Ministry Training class is designed to help prepare elder and deacon nominees to serve Christ and His church as well-trained, godly, committed men with a sense of duty to Christ. Though designed for church leaders’ training, the class is open to any adult who would appreciate learning more about the theology and practice of Chapelgate and the Presbyterian Church in America. Wives of nominees are especially encouraged to attend.
There is a book and materials fee.
SEMINARS
In addition to our ongoing teaching and training in Adult Education, seminars to teach and challenge thinking are presented both by Chapelgate staff and approved outside ministries at different times during the year.
WOMEN’S MINISTRIES
Led by a council of officers, Women’s Ministries focuses on the ministry of the Word of God specifically as it relates to women. We have a vital small group ministry, the sharing of music and praise, mutual prayer and encouragement, fellowship teas, occasional guest speakers and retreats. Women’s Ministries is for all women in the church, members and visitors.
