Missions
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations” Matthew 28:19
Chapelgate has an extensive mission program, in keeping with the church’s philosophy of being “a caring people reaching the world for Christ,” Chapelgate seeks to develop meaningful partnerships with missions endeavors both in the United States and overseas. Overseas, we strive to work with national ministries by either supporting national workers or missionaries sent from the U.S. We work extensively, though not exclusively, with our denominational missions board Mission to the World.
While we support a wide range of ministries around the world, we have decided to concentrate on five key partnerships, referred to by their locations around the world: Ukraine, Mexico, Ethiopia, Japan, and two countries in Asia. These partnerships are areas in which we (1) have a great deal of involvement from within our congregation, including Chapelgate members residing there as missionaries, (2) have cooperative relationships with a national church and (3) are in cooperation with local churches in the States. Here in the United States, Chapelgate supports Home Missions through the general church budget administered by the Missions Committee. At home, we are heavily involved with Habitat for Humanity in Sandtown (Baltimore City), and support evangelistic ministries, college ministries, and PCA church plants in our area and elsewhere in North America.
SHORT-TERM MISSIONS TRIPS
We believe that short-term mission trips ought first and foremost to be relational service projects. Whether our project is medical or mercy ministry, evangelism or theological training, our primary goal is to be of service to a national or local ministry that has a long-term mission in the location. Our overseas trips tend to concentrate on our key partnership areas described above. If you are interested in a short-term mission trip, serving Christ’s kingdom in the U.S. or abroad, call the mission office to receive up-to-date information on mission trip opportunities.
