Chapelgate is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). The PCA (www.pcanet.org) was formed in 1973, a denomination committed to the principles and tenets of the Reformed Faith. These tenets uphold the authority of the Scriptures, the supremacy of Jesus Christ and the doctrine of Justification by Faith alone. The denomination is made up of thousands of churches that are theologically conservative and diverse in their expression.
By Presbyterian we mean that our government is representative. Our church is lead by Ruling Elders, men from among the Congregation who serve as spiritual overseers, or shepherds of the ‘flock’ – We call this the ministry of the Gospel, in Word. Deacons also lead at Chapelgate. The Deacons care for the physical needs of the Membership and the Church Plant itself – We call this the ministry of the Gospel, in Deed.
