Sunbeams

Why Sunbeams?

Our littlest ones at church are rays from heaven that brighten our world. Our goal is to nurture a God-centered community where they are cared for by volunteers who share God’s love by showing them that they are welcomed and cherished. We teach that Sunday is a day for praising God through learning about Him and worshiping Him as a community.

  • Check In

At our check-in desk, we offer a user-friendly database which provides randomly generated matching numeric stickers for you and your child to help ensure your child’s safety while in our building.

After completing the check-in process, parents can walk children to their classroom doors in the Sunbeams hallway. Volunteers can take any diaper bags, water bottles, or coats to be kept in the classroom during service.

    For our 9:00am hour, kids can check-in between 8:45 – 9:00am.

    For our 10:30am hour, kids can check-in between 10:15 – 10:30am.

If your child is attending both services, please have them check-in for both at our check-in desk before our 9:00am hour.

  • Drop Off/Pickup

ALL children attending our children's ministry MUST be checked in and wear a nametag sticker to attend.

Please keep the matching numeric tag with you so that you can pick your child up at the end of service. Children cannot be released to anyone that does not have a matching tag.

    9:00AM Sunday School

All birth-age 5 children will be in Room 121 at the end of the hallway for our Sunday School hour. At 10:15am volunteers will take children to their rooms for the 10:30am service. You are welcome to check-in with your children or pick them up from Room 121 in-between services. You MUST have the matching sticker to pick up your child. If you choose to wait and pick up your child after the 10:30am service, please pick them up from the appropriate age classroom.

    10:30AM Service

Please drop your child off in the appropriate age classroom. Children should be the age of the classroom by September 1st.

    2s: Room 118

After service, please pick up your child promptly from the appropriate room. You MUST have the matching sticker to pick up your child.

  • Services

    9:00AM Sunday School

We offer a Sunday School hour for birth-age 5 children of parents that are attending our Adult Sunday School classes. We welcome children into our combined age classroom and encourage building community by providing opportunities to interact with appropriate activities and toys. Children will listen to a Bible Story that will be reinforced with a coloring page.

    10:30AM Service

Nursery children engage in age appropriate play while they are nurtured by caring volunteers who show Christ’s love through their actions.

Our 2s class allows children to transition from the nursery to a classroom where there is age appropriate play and an introduction to the structure of our preschool classes. They participate in our worship time in the atrium, listen to a Bible Story while enjoying snack, and color a coloring page that reinforces the Bible Story.

Our preschool classes praise and worship as a group in the atrium with child friendly songs, participate in an age appropriate Bible Story, enjoy snack, and create a craft to reinforce the Big Idea and Bible Story each week. Trained volunteers facilitate the opportunities for preschoolers to play and form positive bonds with their peers.

  • Safety

At Sunbeams, no child is ever left alone with an adult. All classrooms have at least two adults in each room at all times. All adults (18+) are securely background checked, and all student leaders (under 18) are vetted by our ministry’s staff. We have a diapering/bathroom policy in place that ensures only background checked adult women assist children and there is always another adult supervising as well.

During our worship in the atrium, we close and lock the doors to our hallway to ensure that all children stay in our designated area and we can monitor those who enter during the remainder of our service time. Only background-checked individuals or those with permission from our Nursery and Preschool Coordinator can be in our classrooms during the service.

Our name tags and matching numeric stickers ensure that only the adult who presents the matching numeric sticker can pick up the child.
