THE CHAPELGATE CHOIR

The Chapelgate Choir rehearses September through May on Thursday evenings from 7:45 to 9:30 pm, and participates in our 9:00 am Sunday service two or three times per month. Membership in the choir is open to all who wish to sing, ages high school and up. Auditions are not required. New members may join at any time (though close to the major holidays is not recommended). It is helpful to call the Music Office (410) 442-5800 and let us know you plan to attend so we can prepare music for you, but you are welcome any Thursday evening.

THE CHAPELGATE ORCHESTRA

The Chapelgate Orchestra rehearses September through May on Thursday evenings from 6:45 to 7:45 pm (with occasional extended rehearsals), and participates in our 9:00 am Sunday service about twice per month. Membership is open to all instrumentalists with ample music-reading skills, subject to the need for specific instruments, determined by the director.

LADIES ENSEMBLES

Ladies Ensemble meets on Thursday nights from 6:45 to 7:45 pm. They participate in our 9:00 am service several times a year. The Ladies Ensemble is generally made up of members from the Chapelgate Choir. For more info, contact:

WORSHIP BAND

Music leadership for our 10:30 am Sunday Service is provided by the worship band, year-round. The goal of the band is to provide Christ-centered leadership without being performance-oriented. We want to play in such a manner as to exhibit our worship authentically & transparently without using our talents in a gratuitous manner. If this sounds like you, answer these questions:

• Can you play, and I mean really play your instrument?
• Do you have a desire to become part of a group that wants to squeeze the most out of their God-given talents for His glory alone?
• Can you make Wednesday rehearsals at 7:00 PM?

If the answer to all these is “yes”, we may have a place for you. Contact me at creid@chapelgate.org and we’ll set up an audition.

CHILDREN’S CHOIRS

We have musical opportunities for children/youth from elementary to middle school: Praise Kids (K5 thru grade 2), and Voices of Praise(Grades 3 thru 6; including hand chimes). The older group includes basic instruction on “ musical tools,” and all teach what it means to worship and lead others in worship. These groups present several times per year in both morning services.
