“ The purpose of Crowded Table is to connect young families within our ministry with each other and with us.

The idea of “crowded table” comes from a song by The Highwomen. The chorus of the song says, “I want a house with a crowded table and a place by the fire for everyone. Let us take on the world while we’re young and able and bring us back together when the day is done.”

This song has been a sweet picture for Joy and I as we worked with RUF. Having students over to our house was a really joyful part of our ministry. The noise of students talking and laughing was always so great. We want to build this type of community with you all, not just when you are at our house, but when you are at each other’s houses. We want to build community that is founded on Jesus and gives opportunity for many to come and be a part of each other’s lives. The crowded table dinners are just the first step in trying to build this community to a greater degree here at Chapelgate.
