Recognizing and Understanding Intimate Partner Abuse - Free LIVE Webinar
This a FREE online event!
National statistics show that one in four women has experienced abuse from an intimate partner at some point in their lives. Reports also indicate that those who engage in abusive behavior do so regardless of their faith, church affiliation, or leadership positions. Because abusers often hide their actions from others, it’s not easy to recognize when abuse is happening. Church leaders need to be informed about domestic abuse, have a clear definition, and understand the patterns associated with abuse to provide Christ-like care.
Join this important and informative webinar where biblical counselor Sandy Cruise, D.Min., from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Director of the Domestic Abuse Network for churches, will introduce key concepts to help church leaders recognize and respond well to intimate partner abuse.
________
Dr. Sandra A. Cruise is a highly respected professional with a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree and a master’s degree in Biblical Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. She serves as the director of the Domestic Abuse Network for churches in Maryland and is a sought-after speaker, delivering training seminars for church leaders and pastors to raise awareness and understanding of domestic abuse. Through Life Counseling Center Ministries in Marriottsville, Md., Sandy provides individual counseling and leads a support group for victims of domestic abuse. She also facilitates groups for men who have committed acts of abuse. Alongside her husband, Marc, she is an active member of a Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) church. They have three adult children, two grandsons, and a demanding Morkie.
