    9/14 Pulpit Announcement (Steve):
    Groundbreaking Celebration is Next Sunday, the 21st, immediately after the regular worship service. We are really looking forward to celebrating this exciting moment in the life of our church. We hope you’ll stay for a special ceremony, catered lunch, a corn hole tournament, bounce house, face painting, magic show and more. Parking will be a little different next week because of the Groundbreaking Celebration. All parking for sunday school and worship will move to our lower and side parking lots - the upper lot will be closed. The orange triangles on the map indicate reserved sections for anyone who needs shuttle assistance. Volunteers in orange and yellow vests will be stationed throughout the parking lot to provide assistance.

    Lauren/Pam/Natalie: Determine fastest way to distribute hard hats after worship - finish week of 9/8.

  • Kaleidoscope (K-5th) will draw pictures of what they think the new sanctuary will look like. Drawings will be completed on 9/14.

    We will hang these on a portable divider and display near the portico.

SETUPS

    • 40x80 Tent

    • (65) 60" round tables with 8 chairs at each. 520 total chairs.

    • 32 round tables and 320 chairs will fit under the large tent. 16 tables will be set up in front of the tent, and 17 tables set up at the other end outside the tent. See Events map.

    • 30 rectangular tables for food/beverage/cake/games/face painting

    • 6 large trash cans spread throughout the upper lot.

    • Arriving Friday, 9/19.

    Will be taken down on Monday, 9/22.

    (3) 20×30 Chapelgate tents to be used for food/beverage stations.

    9/21: Put blue plastic tablecloths on all round and rectangular tables.

  • 20×20 tent & portable stage set up in nursery courtyard for the ceremony.

    Dirt, Shovels, Step & Repeat Banner, 2 stand-up banners

    Metal benches and 30 rented chairs set up facing the tent for those who may need to sit (9/19).

  • Deacons and volunteers will use golf carts and security car as shuttles to provide transportation assistance before Sunday School, Worship, and after Groundbreaking event.

    In addition to our handicapped parking, 50-100 parking spaces will be coned off in the lower lot for those who need shuttle assistance.

    Orange vests and radios will be provided to our volunteers. There will be 2 channels, one for security and one for parking.

    Light poles will be labeled A-E for easy identification of available parking.

    Shuttle Return location = near portico. Deacons will monitor.

  • Cakes will be cut and plated with mini shovel spoons.

  • Fill beverage dispensers with water and lemonade. Plastic cups.

  • Starting at 8:45 AM: Greeters needed outside the front doors, side doors, and upper side doors.

    At 11:30 AM, Greeters needed to hand out hard hats in the lobby and direct people out the front doors for groundbreaking ceremony.

    1. If you are involved in the GB Ceremony, please exit now and gather at the ceremony tent.

    2. Everyone else, if you have kids, please them up from Nursery & Children’s Church.

    3. Pick up a yellow hard hat in the lobby for our group picture!

    4. Join us out front and gather near the small tent for our brief Groundbreaking Ceremony

    5. There is limited seating in front of the ceremony tent for those who may need it.

    4. If you need assistance getting back to your car, the Return Shuttle location is under the portico. Our deacons will be available throughout the afternoon whenever you’re ready to leave.
