Prayer from Dan Kosten

I cried out to you, O Lord. I begged the Lord for mercy

Heavenly Father we begin with grateful hearts for the depth of your love for us in sending your Son. We stand in wonder & thanksgiving for his willingness to die to give us new life. We are reminded of his humanness as he wept for Jerusalem. We, in turn, weep for our nation and pray for your mercy; grant us your love for the immigrant, poor, and lost. In Jesus’ death and resurrection we are reminded that He is God. We repent of our sins of commission and omission for the way we have treated those created in your image. Lord have mercy. In your resurrection we are given new hope and pray Thy will be done and Thy kingdom come.
