Development Coordinator & Staff Accountant
Position Overview:
Metro Baltimore Seminary (MBS) is seeking a Development Coordinator & Staff Accountant. This position will begin July 1, 2026. This position assists the seminary’s President in maintaining consistent, relational communication with donors and provides accurate and reliable bookkeeping, aligned with the seminary’s mission.

Part-time (28 hours/week); workload may vary seasonally; occasional weekend and evening hours required.
Regular in-office presence at Chapelgate, with some flexibility for remote work.
Reliable home internet access and printer.
This is a 12-month, part-time, non-exempt, hourly position. The hourly rate is $25.00-$35.00 per hour. This position will average 28 hours per week.
Part-time employees earn 1 hour of Sick and Safe leave for every 30 hours they work up to 40 hours per year. There is a 10% staff tuition discount for enrolled children at Chapelgate Christian Academy for employees working 20-35 hours per week.

Strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workflows and handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.
Ability to engage relationally with a wide range of constituents (students, pastors, donors, alumni).
Experience in accounting working with non-profit organizations and fund accounting
Experience with Quickbooks preferred
Proficient with MS Word and Excel

1. Advancement (Constituent Relations: Donors, Alumni, Partners) (40%)
Maintain regular, clear communication with donors.
Coordinate the President’s external engagements, including scheduling donor meetings and follow-up.
Assist in identifying and nurturing donor/alumni pathways.
Track donor interactions and ensure timely, personalized acknowledgment and follow-up.
Assist in cultivating relationships with prospective and current supporters.
Oversee consistent communication through email and social media, aligned with the seminary’s mission and priorities.
Assist in coordinating events for donors.
2. Staff Accountant (60%)
Prepare and record monthly bank deposits into Quickbooks. The MBS administrative staff will enter the deposit into Populi.
Using export from Populi/Stripe to record monthly online deposits (tuition, fees and gifts). MBS administrative staff to provide export to MBS Accountant.
Working in conjunction with the MBS administrative staff, ensure MBS vendor invoices are paid timely and accurately. Ensuring accuracy of general ledger coding and appropriate approvals before disbursing checks. (MBS administrative staff to generate all check requests except for the due/to from checks).
Work with Chapelgate Business Office to facilitate bank transfers, receive reports, receive and record MBS gifts received by Chapelgate.
Record monthly journal entries as needed into Quickbooks
Reconcile Due to CPC and other CPC affiliates with CPC’s books
Ensure checks are cut monthly to reimburse CPC or affiliates
Prepare monthly bank reconciliation
Prepare monthly investment account analysis
Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements
Prepare monthly cash flow projection and communicate with the President of any need to transfer funds
Enter annual budget into Quickbooks
Prepare annual 1099 statements
Prepare annual Form 1
In conjunction with the MBS administrative staff, ensure that Populi and Quckbook cash records match on a quarterly basis.
Prepare donor letters when stock gifts are received
