Prayer from Kaelyn Reed, 8th Grade

You turned my wailing into dancing;

you removed my sackcloth & clothed me with joy…

Dear Lord, you say you turn our wailing to dancing. You remove our sackcloth that is grief and shame and clothe us with joy and love. Lord, your word helps us remember that while the flames of our sins, anxieties, and fears are around us, they will never overtake us because you are always with us in that fire. We thank you for this, God, for without you we would be lost within our guilt and shame; but you give us hope, walk us through the valley, and send your one and only son to take the weight of our sins. For this, Lord our God, we will praise you forever. Amen.
